The Draw the Line Project
Where Urban Innovation Meets Ecological Harmony
About the Project
Draw the line is LandAID's biggest and boldest ecological infrastructure initiative to date. Placed in the western region of metropolitan Houston, this project introduces a revolutionary boundary between dense urban development and restored natural ecosystems.

By establishing a physical and conceptual threshold, we are enabling Houston to both densify and decarbonise while regenerating thousands of acres of native prairie and woodland environments lost to decades of unchecked sprawl.

The Vision
Urban Resilliance Through Restoration
The Draw the Line project demonstrates a new model in climate-responsive development. By reclaiming flood-prone and underutilized suburban lands and reestablishing them into biodiversity corridors, habitats for pollination, and carbon sink zones, we are creating an enduring climate shield for greater Houston.

The urban limit becomes a sustainable membrane, allowing the city to grow smarter, denser, and more efficient, while protecting the land beyond it through rewilding and climate mitigation.
How it Works

-
Reduces urban flood risk by 31% across greater Houston
-
Adds 2,800 acres of native tallgrass species
-
Reclassifies unchecked urban sprawl to protect Texas's regional biodiversity
-
Strengthens a public-private connection in resilient design
-
Offers immersive environmental experiences through curated nature access, ensuring protection and safety for the ecosystem while still allowing Houston to enjoy it.
